This project has been awarded to Unik Construction at a contract value of MK4, 300, 016, 478.58 (four billion, three hundred million, sixteen thousand, four hundred seventy-eight Malawi Kwacha and fifty-Eight Tambala), which will cover a 10km distance.

On 16th July 2021, the project was introduced to the local leadership by the Chief Executive Officer of Roads Authority Mr Emmanuel Matapa followed by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works Hon Nancy Chaola Mdooko and the MP of the area together with the chiefs who expressed their gratitude for the new development and vowed to assist the contractor in any challenge they might face. There were also some traditional dances before the MP introduced the contractor at the meeting which was represented by the Manager Mr Wu Yonggang, the Project Manager Mr Edwell Zhou and the Accountant Miss Li Guozhi (Joyce).

This project will ease the mode of transport and communication between the two areas. Also, this means that a good number of both skilled and unskilled locals will benefit through employment that has been created in the area by Unik Construction.
